HSAs and FSAs Now Covering Holistic Healing & Reiki
Holistic Healing Sessions and Reiki are now eligible for payment With Health Savings Accounts (HSA), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) Accounts, and Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA). This is great news for those seeking intuitive healing, energy healing and Reiki to improve their health. This allows for more freedom to choose supplemental or integrative therapies that are best suited for your needs.
What Services Qualify as a “Holistic Healing?”
Under these new guidelines, a “Holistic Healer” is considered a practitioner of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) that falls outside of mainstream medicine. Holistic healing encompasses a wide range of treatments and therapies that work together to balance the mind, body, spirit, and emotions and is often used alongside allopathic care for an “integrative medicine” approach.
If you use your HSA/FSA to pay for services, be sure to keep your receipts and any supporting documentation related to your care. As of 2023, holistic healer reimbursement is not eligible with a limited-purpose flexible spending account (LPFSA), or a dependent care flexible spending account (DCFSA).
